The world wide web

Just when I've arrived in Gstaad last weekend and we got our little family comfortably checked in to one of the Relais and Chateaux around the world, I suddenly got two personal welcomings. Both Gstaad Palace (which is a remarkable hotel in palace-style and where I hope to stay next time!) and Pernet Comestibles, (which is one of the most exclusive food stores you can think of that serves the need for everyone with high culinary expectations in both the best ingredients and wine selection) - sent me personal messages to my blog/Twitter wishing my stay to be as pleasent as possible. How nice is that?

So thank you very much for making me feel more than welcome in this very snowy paradise!

The dress

First of all, I need to be honest and let you know that I'm not at all happy with these photos that we took of my evening dress for the wedding. But it was too cold to be outside in some more appropriate environment (minus 16 degrees with heavy wind, look at my flying hair, which made it feel like minus 30!) so we took the pictures on the balcony. As you can see, there is far to much contrast, always tricky to get rid of when having a bright daylight. But nevertheless. This is the dress and I am very fond of it.
It's a vintage dress to start with that I bought and readjusted to perfection and added some details to here and there. The under-dress, for example, needed to be tailored to my ideas. When I showed it to M the first time, he just looked at me and I could truly see that he didn't get the whole picture at all. He thought it looked like a folklore dress from the seventies. In fact, I was wearing my warm sheep slippers to it, that might have been the problem and it clearly looked different at the time. But when I told him about the changes that I was planning to make, the shoes, bag, earrings ... etc. In other words, the details that so often take something quite average to something fun and personal - I saw that he bought in and at the end he loved my edgy dress and thought it would be fun to escort me with this more original piece than the classical dresses that are generally worn on this kind of occasion.
I love how the legs are seen under this quite covered dress in general. That's what I most appreciate in what became of the outfit. I wore my suede heels in purple and matched them to my darker purple suede bag and then added some jewelery with dark purple stones that you unfortunately can't see here in the photos. Of course, I didn't wear my sunglasses, but the sun was extremely strong so it was impossible to shoot without them. Et voilĂ !

Funny enough, I just realised that the last time I went to a wedding in the french mountains, I also had a theme of purple without even noticing ... and the same shoes. Look here and you'll understand.

What makes a more perfect subject for today than showing small glimpses from the weekend's beautiful wedding in Gstaad? Life is love and love is life. That's just the way it is ...

Pre- wedding dinner

I love the feeling of wearing something big on my body, like a warm, long sweater, cardigan, coat ... etc and then match it with bare feet in some killer heels. It gets that special feminine and more dramatic effect that I tend to love, all in simplicity.
I matched the silver studs on my shoes with the silver chain of my black Chanel bag. Simple, comfy and perfect according to me.
